For the past three days, we have been celebrating "Sudan Days" at KAS. Basically, it's a school-wide celebration of the culture of Sudan. Students got the opportunity to go for donkey-rides, shop at the souk, eat typical Sudanese food, participate in a tea/coffee ceremony and have henna painted on them. With so much controversy in the news, it's nice to see the positive aspects of Sudanese culture. Many of my Sudanese students proudly sported their traditional dress, the
tobe for women and the
jalibea for men, while sharing their culture with us all. Here's how henna is applied:
