Perhaps on Christmas Day, you were watching the snowflakes fall outside while you bundled yourself next to the fire waiting anxiously to open all of your presents left by Santa?

Us? Well, this year there were no presents except for an amazing safari on Christmas Day!
We were around the equator, Murchison Falls to be exact, at the crack of dawn marveling at all of the incredible creatures. We managed to balancing ourselves in the pop-up 4x4 vehicle. The afternoon was a river cruise to see the animals by the water!

This was quite a gift--far surpassing any of my expectations. Literally, every minute there was another animal to spy on in its natural habitat! Here are some of the highlights...straight out of "The Lion King"!
Our first sighting: giraffes!

Elephants!

Lions! (Umm...well, only ONE lion but still...!)

Loads of Hippos! (Literally hundreds!)

More Crocodiles than you can count!

Herds of Water Buffalo! (Even though I only have one pictured here!)

Warthogs at the campsite (too many for my liking!)

Jackson Antelope

Uganda's National Animal--The Cobb
