One of the three cool things to do in Khartoum is to visit the local camel market, that is, where camels are bought and sold. It's also the only time I've seen cows in Sudan!
It's bizarre to see a crowd of camels with their front leg tied together, lest they run away.
Going rate: $100 for a baby camel and $300 for an adult. We were pondering purchasing a baby for our roof!
I can't say this is the most amazing thing I've done here, but definitely an experience!
