It's full blown watermelon season! They're everywhere! Everyday we pass about 10 different stands with a pyramid of melons! And they're cheap...around $1.50 right about now.So while everyone back home is enjoying the reprieve from summer, I'm in the thick of it! At least there's always a sweet little watermelon to be picked up along the way.
The only downside, which seems quite obvious, is that watermelons bought on the side of the road are HOT from sitting in the sun all day! All you crave is to break it open and feel the cool, refreshing taste sink into your mouth! Warm melon...Blech!
Depending on the size of your noggin, they make super helmets! At least we keep ourselves entertained with the remnants! (Errr...this is Ross, the father of that baby whose shower we went to on Saturday!)
